La ‘Festa de’ noantri’, autentica celebrazione capitolina nel quartiere di Trastevere a Roma

Per chi ama passeggiare e ammirare le bellezze di Roma, nel mese di luglio può partecipare alla ‘Festa de’ noantri’. Si celebra in onore della Beata Vergine del Carmelo, in occasione della Sua ricorrenza liturgica, dal 15 al 30 luglio nel rione Trastevere di Roma. E’ senza dubbio una delle feste più sentite dal popolo romano: nelle strade e nelle piazze vengono allestiti palchi per esibizioni teatrali, musicali e comiche e sono presenti stand di prodotti tipici e punti ristoro. Le origini della festa pare risalgano al 1535: si tramanda infatti che dopo una tempesta, fu rinvenuta da alcuni pescatori alla foce del Tevere una statua della Vergine Maria scolpita in legno di cedro. La Madonna, per questa ragione chiamata “Madonna Fiumarola”, fu poi donata ai carmelitani (a cui si deve il titolo “Madonna del Carmine”) della chiesa di San Crisogono a Trastevere (in piazza Sonnino); divenne così la Santa Protettrice dei Trasteverini. La statua lignea policroma del XIX secolo che raffigura la Madonna del Carmine si trova ora nella chiesa di Sant’Agata: da qui ogni anno il sabato dopo il 16 luglio viene portata in processione per le vie del rione fino alla chiesa di San Crisogono, dove sosta per otto giorni, prima di tornare con un’altra processione nella chiesa di appartenenza.
