In quattro anni la manifestazione si è affermata come uno dei maggiori rock festival italiani perchè ha ospitato le più grandi star internazionali ed italiane e anche l’edizione 2013 si conferma come best major festival italiano. Natura e cultura a Villa Borghese e Villa Torlonia

Villa Borghese, appena sopra piazza del Popolo e a pochi passi dall’Hotel Centrale di Roma, ha un’estensione di 85 ettari appartenuti, fino alla fine del 1800, alla villa privata dei principi Borghese. All’interno del parco si trovano le splendide collezioni della Galleria Borghese, gli esotici animali del Bioparco, i bellissimi palazzi Liberty, il Globe Theatre – il teatro Elisabettiano che riproduce la caratteristica “grande O di legno” dell’originale – e, tra i pini romani, sorge la Casa del Cinema che ospita proiezioni, lezioni di montaggio e regia, incontri… Se volete fare una sosta, sono numerosi i ristoranti e i caffè con tavolini all’aperto. Sempre nella stessa zona, Villa Torlonia è a circa due chilometri da Porta Pia. Acquistata nel 1797 da Giovanni Torlonia e successivamente trasformata in un complesso monumentale (il restauro venne affidato all’architetto Valadier), è entrata nella cronaca e nella storia come la “casa di Mussolini”. All’interno della Villa si può godere la Limonaia e l’architettura Liberty della Casina delle Civette. La “Notte dei Musei” romani si svolge sabato 18 maggio 2013

La Notte dei Musei, patrocinata dall’Unesco e dal Consiglio d’Europa, è un occasione unica per visitare gratuitamente e fuori orario musei statali, civici e privati, gallerie, mostre, biblioteche e zone archeologiche. Giunta alla sua quinta edizione italiana, si svolgerà a Roma, quest’anno la prima città europea ad annunciare la sua partecipazione, sabato 18 maggio 2013 dalle ore 20 in poi. Il 18 Maggio non sarà solo la giornata dedicata alla Notte dei Musei, ma anche la Giornata Internazionale dei Musei istituita dall’International Council of Museums. Il tema di quest’anno è Musei (Memoria + Creatività) = Sviluppo Sociale. Tra le strutture visitabili nella capitale d’Italia: il Planetario, la Galleria Nazionale d’arte Antica di Palazzo Corsini, Il Museo Nazionale Etrusco, la Chiesa di Sant’Ignazio e i Musei statali (grazie all’accordo con il MIBAC). Sport e relax nei parchi di Roma

Roma è una città verdissima, ricca di splendidi parchi dove potersi rilassare, prendere il sole (adesso che si avvicina la bella stagione) e fare sport… Oltre alla natura, i parchi di Roma ospitano ville meravigliose, ricche di storia e di fascino; la passeggiata (o la corsa) si trasforma perciò in un percorso rigenerante tra il verde della natura e il bianco dei marmi. A parte Villa Borghese (di cui parleremo nel prossimo post), a nord di Roma si trova il parco più ricco della Capitale per quanto riguarda l’aspetto faunistico e ambientale, Villa Ada: cipressi, pini, palme nane ma anche una pista di pattinaggio e percorsi ginnici la rendono una delle ville più amate e frequentate dai Romani. Tornando verso il centro di Roma c’è Villa Celimontana, la struttura rinascimentale all’interno del Parco del Celio. E’ un’oasi tra il Colosseo e le Terme di Caracalla, meta di ogni jazzofilo per le rassegne internazionali di musica che vi si organizzano ogni anno. Ponte del 25 aprile 2013 a Roma: cultura, divertimento e shopping

Roma propone sempre molte cose da fare ai visitatori e turisti ma l’offerta di eventi è ancora più ricca durante i ponti; per quello del 25 aprile 2013, si va dalla mostra a cielo aperto in una delle più suggestive strade della città, via Margutta, con “Via Margutta: i cento pittori in mostra per la 93esima edizione” (dal 24 al 28 aprile, ore 10 – 21), all’arte giapponese alla  Galleria d’Arte Moderna: protagoniste di “Arte in Giappone 1868-1945” sono la pittura tradizionale nihonga e le arti decorative giapponesi moderne. Numerosi saranno anche gli spettacoli teatrali e musicali; all’Auditorium Parco della Musica, proprio il 25 aprile, vi saranno Vinicio Capossela alla Sala Sinopoli e Cristiano Dé Andrè alla Sala Santa Cecilia. Nei pomeriggi del 24 e 25 Aprile l’Arteballetto presenterà invece al Teatro Olimpico due spettacoli del repertorio russo in onore della genialità di Stravinskij. Chi invece volesse dedicarsi allo shopping, può farlo in tante vie; una delle più commerciali è via del Corso, che unisce piazza Venezia a piazza del Popolo e misura all’incirca 1,6 chilometri. There will also be many theatrical and musical performances; at the Auditorium Parco della Musica, precisely on April 25, there will be Vinicio Capossela at the Sala Sinopoli and Cristiano De Andrè at the Sala Santa Cecilia. In the afternoons of  24 and 25 April the Arteballetto will present at the Teatro Olimpico two performances of the Russian repertoire in honor of the genius of Stravinsky. La tomba di San Pietro

Divenuta famosa perché visitata pochi giorni fa (nel pomeriggio del Lunedì dell’Angelo) da papa Francesco, il primo a scendere negli scavi della Necropoli vaticana, la tomba di Pietro è ubicata nelle grotte vaticane, in corrispondenza dell’altare della Basilica di San Pietro. Qui, sui declivi del colle Vaticano, una volta si trovava il Circo, iniziato da Caligola e terminato da Nerone. Al centro c’era l’obelisco fatto portare dall’Egitto che dal 1586 venne trasferito in Piazza San Pietro, dove si trova ancora oggi. Nell’area adiacente al circo vi era una serie di tombe, tra le quali quella di Pietro; le fonti testimoniano infatti che, dopo aver subito il martirio, l’Apostolo venne sepolto sul vicino colle Vaticano. Qui i Cristiani, accusati di essere i responsabili del grande incendio che distrusse Roma nel 64, furono vittime di Nerone e qui si raccolsero per superare il tragico momento. Quando Costantino, all’inizio del IV secolo, edificò l’antica basilica di San Pietro, scelse il terreno sul quale sorgeva la necropoli. Col tempo altri monumenti, sempre più imponenti e preziosi, sostituirono la basilica costantiniana; si edificarono infatti l’altare di Gregorio Magno (590-604), l’altare di Callisto II (1123) e, nel 1594, l’altare di Clemente VIII, successivamente coperto dal baldacchino del Bernini sotto la grandiosa cupola michelangiolesca. La tradizione vuole che la tomba di Pietro rimanesse per tutti questi secoli esattamente sotto tutti questi monumenti. La sua scoperta si deve a Pio XII Pacelli (1939-1958): sotto la Basilica vaticana venne infatti alla luce la tomba di Pietro, una modesta sepoltura sulla quale, cent’anni dopo il martirio dell’Apostolo, fu costruita una piccola edicola funeraria già meta di devoti pellegrinaggi. La straordinaria successione dei monumenti eretti attorno e sopra l’edicola del II secolo costituisce un’eloquente e tangibile testimonianza di duemila anni di devozione e di storia incentrata sull’umile sepoltura di Pietro.

Here the Christians, accused of being responsible for the great fire that destroyed Rome in 64, were victims of Nero and gathered here in order to overcome the tragic moment. When Constantine, in the early fourth century, built the ancient basilica of St. Peter, he chose the land on which stood the necropolis. Over time, other monuments, even more impressive and valuable, replaced the Constantinian basilica: it was in fact built the altar of Gregory the Great (590-604), the altar of Calixtus II (1123) and, in 1594, the altar of Clement VIII, later covered by a canopy of Bernini that stands under the magnificent dome by Michelangelo. Tradition has it that Peter’s tomb remained for all these centuries exactly under all these monuments. Its discovery is due to Pius XII Pacelli (1939-1958): in the Vatican Basilica was found the tomb of Peter, a modest grave on which, a hundred years after the martyrdom of the Apostle, was built a small funerary shrine already visited by devout pilgrims. The extraordinary succession of monuments erected around and over the shrine of the second century bears eloquent and tangible testimony of  two thousand years of devotion and story focused on the humble grave of Peter.
