La ‘Festa de’ noantri’, autentica celebrazione capitolina nel quartiere di Trastevere a Roma

Per chi ama passeggiare e ammirare le bellezze di Roma, nel mese di luglio può partecipare alla ‘Festa de’ noantri’. Si celebra in onore della Beata Vergine del Carmelo, in occasione della Sua ricorrenza liturgica, dal 15 al 30 luglio nel rione Trastevere di Roma. E’ senza dubbio una delle feste più sentite dal popolo romano: nelle strade e nelle piazze vengono allestiti palchi per esibizioni teatrali, musicali e comiche e sono presenti stand di prodotti tipici e punti ristoro. Le origini della festa pare risalgano al 1535: si tramanda infatti che dopo una tempesta, fu rinvenuta da alcuni pescatori alla foce del Tevere una statua della Vergine Maria scolpita in legno di cedro. La Madonna, per questa ragione chiamata “Madonna Fiumarola”, fu poi donata ai carmelitani (a cui si deve il titolo “Madonna del Carmine”) della chiesa di San Crisogono a Trastevere (in piazza Sonnino); divenne così la Santa Protettrice dei Trasteverini. La statua lignea policroma del XIX secolo che raffigura la Madonna del Carmine si trova ora nella chiesa di Sant’Agata: da qui ogni anno il sabato dopo il 16 luglio viene portata in processione per le vie del rione fino alla chiesa di San Crisogono, dove sosta per otto giorni, prima di tornare con un’altra processione nella chiesa di appartenenza. La cucina dell’antica Roma

Scrittori come Apicio, Giovenale, Petronio e Columella ci hanno tramandato usi e costumi della gastronomia degli antichi Romani. Tra gli ingredienti, si mangiavano molto carne, pesce, legumi, uova, cereali e formaggi (naturalmente mancavano quelli importati con la scoperta dell’America), spesso conditi con salse e spezie. I pasti giornalieri erano 3: abbondante ‘ientaculum’ (colazione) con gli avanzi della sera (formaggio, olive, pane, miele), latte fresco e focaccette;  ‘prandium’ leggero, magari acquistato dai  venditori ambulanti e ricca ‘cena’, che consisteva in zuppa di legumi, latte, formaggi, frutta fresca e secca, lardo, carne e pane. Era peraltro, come oggi, un’occasione per radunare tutta la famiglia attorno alla tavola e, in occasioni speciali, per invitare ospiti (e nel caso il pasto era un ‘convivium’), ai quali si offrivano, oltre ai piatti principali, antipasti e dessert. La cucina consisteva in un ambiente piccolo in cui però non poteva mancare il forno per cuocere il pane e le focacce, un acquaio e una sorta di fornelli in pietra a legna o carbonella. La sala da pranzo, invece, il ‘triclinio’, era il locale più bello della casa, decorato e arredato anche sfarzosamente. Vi si  entrava sempre con il piede destro e si mangiava sdraiati su un lettino. Ecco un’antica ricetta romana, le polpette di carne di Apicio (per 4 persone): ‘amalgamare 5 etti di carne tritata di maiale (o di manzo) con 1 etto e mezzo di mollica di pane ammorbidito nel vino. Unire con pepe, un cucchiaio di garum (salsa liquida di interiora di pesce e pesce salato che gli antichi Romani aggiungevano come condimento a molti piatti ) e 500 grammi di pinoli. Il Gruppo FAI Giovani Roma ha infatti promosso, in collaborazione con la Casa delle Letterature, un ciclo di incontri sul tema del paesaggio. Essi hanno ruotato intorno alla presentazione di un nuovo libro, che è stato al centro della discussione tra l’autore, il presentatore e il pubblico. I libri e le tematiche sono stati selezionati per la loro visione innovativa, originale, o anche poetica, del paesaggio, del giardino e delle colture agricole. La ‘Dolce vita’ di Roma

La città eterna è, nell’immaginario collettivo, caratterizzata dalla ‘Dolce vita’, termine che deriva dal titolo del celeberrimo film del 1960 di Federico Fellini, interpretato da Marcello Mastroianni e Anita Ekberg. La trama consta di sette episodi che narrano appunto la ‘dolce vita’ di Roma a cavallo fra gli anni Cinquanta e Sessanta, attraverso le vicende del cinico e disincantato giornalista di gossip Marcello Rubini. Il film tratteggia la capitale d’Italia come un luogo abitato da aristocratici, politici, prostitute e personaggi dello show business, ritraendoli a volte come personaggi caricaturali, altre attraverso il più asciutto realismo. L’atmosfera lieve rappresentata dal film è rimasta legata a Roma e soprattutto a via Vittorio Veneto, una delle strade in cui le vicende si svolgono e che, negli anni Cinquanta e Sessanta, era al centro della vita mondana grazie alla presenza di numerosi caffè ed alberghi frequentati da celebrità o aspiranti tali. Una serie di concerti lunga due mesi al Rock in Roma 2013

Una serie di concerti in cui si alterneranno sul palco le migliori star della musica rock, da fine maggio a fine luglio, all’Ippodromo delle Capannelle in via Appia Nuova 1245: questo è Rock in Roma 2013. In quattro anni la manifestazione si è affermata come uno dei maggiori rock festival italiani perchè ha ospitato le più grandi star internazionali ed italiane e anche l’edizione 2013 si conferma come best major festival italiano. Si esibiranno infatti artisti storici del rock mondiale, alcuni tra i più attesi brand new artists del panorama musicale attuale e i migliori artisti rappresentativi di generi musicali eterogenei che spaziano dal metal alla techno, dal folk all’elettronica, dal classical pop all’alternative. Natura e cultura a Villa Borghese e Villa Torlonia

Villa Borghese, appena sopra piazza del Popolo e a pochi passi dall’Hotel Centrale di Roma, ha un’estensione di 85 ettari appartenuti, fino alla fine del 1800, alla villa privata dei principi Borghese. All’interno del parco si trovano le splendide collezioni della Galleria Borghese, gli esotici animali del Bioparco, i bellissimi palazzi Liberty, il Globe Theatre – il teatro Elisabettiano che riproduce la caratteristica “grande O di legno” dell’originale – e, tra i pini romani, sorge la Casa del Cinema che ospita proiezioni, lezioni di montaggio e regia, incontri… Se volete fare una sosta, sono numerosi i ristoranti e i caffè con tavolini all’aperto. Sempre nella stessa zona, Villa Torlonia è a circa due chilometri da Porta Pia. Acquistata nel 1797 da Giovanni Torlonia e successivamente trasformata in un complesso monumentale (il restauro venne affidato all’architetto Valadier), è entrata nella cronaca e nella storia come la “casa di Mussolini”. All’interno della Villa si può godere la Limonaia e l’architettura Liberty della Casina delle Civette. In prossimità di questa c’è la minicittà “Technotown” che fa divertire i ragazzi con finte colate vulcaniche, un tg che spiega come funzionano le notizie e viaggi virtuali nell’antica Roma.
